The Importance of Placemaking and Placekeeping

Sole Alley has existed for several generations before the Clean California Grant helped to revitalize it into the beautiful space it is today. The buildings around Sole Alley were erected from the early 1900s to the 1950s creating a unique “L-shaped” space which we now call Sole Alley. Placekeeping is the urban artform of bringing life back to a space with community input in mind.
